A New Age of Enlightenment – The Libertarian Way

War, inflation, recession, housing crisis, confiscatory taxes, big government interventionism, liberty violations and talk of a possible economic collapse. It appears that A New Age of Enlightenment—an era of The Libertarian Way is nothing but—a freedom lover’s pipe dream. Maybe he became so discouraged about the current anti-libertarian ways of his fellow citizens that he took to smoking some of that “wacky” weed.

Current Situation

I might as well lay it on the line—hit you squarely with the truth. We are facing total economic collapse. Government interventionism has run amuck. It’s like a snowball rolling down a steep hill—gaining speed—becoming an humongous ice ball—crushing everyone in its path—quickly reaching the bottom and smashing all that is below.

You may wonder how we arrived at this tragic state of affairs—or you might be painfully aware of all the reasons we carelessly wandered down the path of misery and destruction.

You know, the marketplace works just fine on it own. And it works best when outside sources—such as governments don’t interfere with its operation. Sure, it’s not perfect—but neither is anything else in the sphere of human action. However it is perfectly just. Individuals get back what they contribute—which is why unhampered capitalism is an honest system. It rewards innovation, hard work, foresight and savings. It penalizes lethargy, laziness, lack of foresight and over-spending.

Unfortunately most people are ignorant of basic economic law. They have no idea how the marketplace works—they have allowed government pseudo-economists and “intellectuals” to mislead them.

If people understood how the market actually works—it is possible they would let it work its magic. But as Bill Bonner of “The Daily Reckoning” states “Since they have only a dim perception of its mechanics, these people instead clamor for more laws giving men with guns the permission to order people around.” So they hand over control to the people who caused all the problems in the first place. It’s like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

A New Age of Enlightenment?

Fortunately, out of chaos arises a new beginning—something new and improved—that is if the chaos doesn’t result in total collapse and death of the system. No doubt there are some who think we are freakin’ doomed. With all the illusions, delusions and plain stupidity passing as truth it may seem that way—but I believe there is hope. I believe “A New Age of Enlightenment” is a probability. There are two reasons for my optimism.

1.The laws of Praxeology (Human Action) displaces Keynesian, socialist and big government interventionist economics. It ascends to its rightful place as the economics of reason, logic and truth.

2.The Spiritual Revolution. More individuals become spiritually enlightened. They realize who they are and they recognize their unlimited potential to be the best they can be. They realize in order to succeed and prosper in the physical world they have to transform themselves into the type of person who deserves all the good things life has to offer. As you can see there is the blending of the external and internal. Praxeology reveals external laws that men must follow and utilize to achieve their material goals and desires. Spiritual enlightenment is an internal process. It allows an individual to be the type of person that is capable of achieving his or her goals and desires.

The Party’s Over

Currently too many people are dependent on government and the “favors” that our “beloved” politicians bestow on them. They are like little children who must have all the goodies right now. They demand immediate gratification. Any politician who suggests that maybe they should delay gratification would soon be an ex-politician. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately depending how you look at it) the party is ending. As Judy Holliday sang “The Party’s Over.” The food, drinks and dope have all been consumed in an orgy of over-consumption. It’s time to go home, sleep it off and suffer tomorrow’s hangover and withdrawals.

A New Age of Enlightenment

Quite often, out of the ashes of despair, wisdom and enlightenment are unleashed. When almost everything people believed in is proven to be nothing but illusions they are forced to seek the truth—to look outward for the facts of reality—and look inward for a personal awakening. And as stated the outward truth is the laws of praxeology (human action). The inward truth arrives as a result of a spiritual awakening—which is an individual thing. There are basic spiritual truths—however each individual’s path is different. As the old saying goes “Different strokes for different folks.”

Can you imagine politicians attempting to control people who have the wisdom of praxeology and the insights of a spiritual awakening? The thought of it is ludicrous. These individuals won’t need anyone telling them what to do. In fact I doubt if they will need or desire any form of government. If governments still exist they will be reduced to the role of the night watchman at the factory or the status of the “Maytag Man.”

Yes, I am optimistic. I know who I am—and I walk the path I choose. I enjoy Libertarian Pleasures. I live “The Libertarian Way.” I feel and believe that I am part of the beginning of a glorious present and future. And that is “A New Age of Enlightenment” the path of “The Libertarian Way.” I hope to see you on the path. We will be a dynamic force for the liberty and freedom we so valiantly fought for—and finally realized.
