The science of human action (praxeology) and its better-known part economics conclusively proves that all forms of interference with the marketplace is self-defeating and doomed to failure. Still, so-called "intellectuals" continue to be hard-core supporters and initiators of government "solutions" to our economic woes. And tragically, they have convinced the masses that government "help" is the cure to all their financial problems.

Envy

Feelings of envy unleashed and put into action are detrimental to all involved—including its purveyor. When individuals succumb to their negative emotions in personal relationships they cause themselves and others—sometimes those closest to them—much hurt, pain and disharmony. Once envy is institutionalized in the form of government programs that transfer wealth from the productive to the non-production, the social costs are mighty steep—steep enough to destroy the fabric of any "society."

I certainly understand the negative emotion of envy. Individuals have the unfortunate habit of comparing themselves with others. This is especially so in their comparisons with "the Jones." How painful it is to see others succeeding while they suffer through a life of struggle and want. Sadly, most are unable to look within to discover the root of their lack—the cause of what is preventing them from obtaining what they so much desire. Instead they look for answers outside of themselves. They seek scapegoats—people they can blame for their own deficiencies. Of course there is an abundance of politicians unscrupulous enough to point out the so-called victimizers—and transform them into sacrificial victims—to feed the masses hunger for unearned benefits.

Hate

Underlying the negative emotion of envy is the often-entrenched feelings of hate. A person’s deep feelings of hate sometimes festers somewhere below the surface. Usually it is transformed into other more socially acceptable negative emotions such as envy, jealousy, covetousness, etc. Most people attempt to hide their hatred of everything that is good, beautiful and sublime. In fact it is doubtful that they are consciously aware of it. They aren’t introspective enough to come face to face with their own inner ugliness. It is the rare bird who actively displays his hatred and wears it as a badge of honor.

Altruists, absolute moralists, do-gooders and world improvers "sublimate" their hatred into socially acceptable activities—activities that appeal to the envy of the masses. This way they can pretend that they are "saviors" of the world—that they are actually concerned, loving people who only want to help others. And believe me—there are plenty of neurotic, envious people waiting in line to be "helped." What the do-gooders and the do-goodies refuse to acknowledge is that they are causing the rapid decline of Western Civilization.

Destruction

All of this envy, jealousy and hatred have resulted in an altruistic banquet of sacrificial victims. I’m sure you’ve heard the old joke: What is a vegetarian? A person who eats only vegetables. What is a humanitarian? A person who eats human flesh.

Now modern altruists do not consume human flesh—at least I don’t think they do. However they voraciously consume the spirit and wealth of the productive—of the lone individual who lives by his own effort and ingenuity. I guess you have to admit that altruists are "sharing" people. They share the wealth of others through the dishonest, devious methods of government interventionism. They invite the envious to join them in their cannibalistic smorgasbord of stolen wealth—and with vacant eyes of a never fulfilled lust they gluttonously eat the spirit of the honest man and woman for dessert.

The End of Government Interventionism

All government interventionism must eventually end. Either through the short-term pain of voluntary renunciation or the long-term pain of total economic collapse. There are no other possibilities. Tragically, it appears the American people have chosen the latter—maybe in a futile attempt to shift the burden to their children and their children’s children. Only caring about your own irrational selfish needs and not giving a rat’s ass about future generations ---. Now that’s envy, hate and destruction run amuck

I believe many are in for an unpleasant surprise. The treachery of the anti-life philosophy of altruism and its practice of government interventionism are already reaping havoc on our economy. It appears that they won’t be able to shift the total burden of collapse to future generations. That sad fact is that many innocent, productive people could also face the difficult times that come unbidden with economic chaos.

The Conquering Individual
