About the author Robert A. Meyer

My mission in life is the dissemination of libertarian thought. I practice the philosophy of Libertarianism every day of my life. I call this "The Libertarian Way." I live my life by enjoying Libertarian Pleasures of the body, mind and spirit.

I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. My passion when I was growing up was baseball. I had the privilege of playing centerfield for the former major league player Herman (Flea) Clifton.

The most important influence he had on me were his teachings on fundamentals and applying them through self-discipline. Our team called Maier Airport won the Class B Knothole National Championship in 1963.

I have always possessed a passion for reading. Two of my early influences were the “Perry Mason” series by Erle Stanley Gardner and the”Sherlock Holmes Treasury” by Arthur Conan Doyle. I learned the importance of deductive reasoning from these authors.

The most important year for me was 1978. That is the year I discovered Praxeology and the works of Ludwig von Mises. Praxeology is the science of human action and its better known part economics. I still consider Mises “Human Action” the greatest non-fiction book of all time.

Another important influence during that time was Ayn Rand. Her book “Atlas Shrugged” is a masterpiece. Her philosophy of Objectivism had a major impact on my life.

It was during the late 70’s that I decided to do a life long investigation into human action. This is something similar to what Napoleon Hill did when he investigated success principles for over 30 years. This carried me into many exciting areas of discovery.

I moved to Texas in 1985. At this time I became interested in psychology and psychiatry. I studied the great masters such as Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Abraham Maslow, Viktor Frankl and others. I learned a lot about human behavior.

The teachings of Carl Jung resulted in me becoming excited about metaphysics. However my metaphysical explorations took off when I discovered Jonathan Parker’s “Mind Power Series’ and subsequently his “Pathways to Mastership” course. I began a practice of daily meditation, which greatly benefits me.

Many of my discoveries have occurred during my meditations. A state of high awareness definitely results in creative thinking, intuitive insights and enhanced reasoning abilities. I conceived many of my writings during my meditations.

I am now able to combine the teachings of Praxeology, Objectivism and Metaphysics into an integrated philosophy of life—a philosophy of life called The Libertarian Way.
